New CelloVet in Stock

We have our brand new batch of CelloVet in stock. For those clients who have reported back to us regarding their last batch of CelloVet performing poorly, we will be sending out replacements ASAP.

Changes in CelloVet packaging and shipping protocols

We have been working closely with our CelloVet manufacturer to figure out what has been happening with regards to CelloVet cracking when autoclaved. Utilizing some crack detective work, we have identified that most cracking cellophane was reported during the winter months of the year. Cellophane shipped to hospitals during the Northern Hemisphere winter of 2018 and across the Atlantic were likely exposed to sub-zero temperatures, which cause cellophane to become brittle.

Furthermore, in consultation with our manufacturer, it is feasible that the dessicants placed in our stock packaging may be drawing out too much moisture from the product, causing cracking and breakage.

For these reasons, we will no longer be recommending or shipping CelloVet with any dessicant. Furthermore we have begun shipping all CelloVet in insulated bubble mailer bags to help maintain internal temperatures of the cellophane above zero when being shipped. Estimated shelf life is still somewhere between 6-12 months when kept in a closed, light reflective bags.

We still recommend only removing the CelloVet from the bag it is shipped in until you are ready to autoclave it. Natural, uncoated cellophane is capable of withstanding temperatures in excess of 200C, so autoclaving (132C) is the accepted and recommended means of sterilization.
